Obituary

Benjamin Henry Stanley Leon Lewis, of So. 4th Ave., Taftville, died Monday at Backus Hospital. Born december 4, 1950 in the Poquonnock Bridge Section of Groton, he was the son of the late Eustace H. Lewis Sr. and Marion L. (Sebastian) Lewis.

He was a self-employed houspainter and was a sports enthusiast, playing softball , football, basketball and golf. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, NY Yankees and LA Lakers. He was amember of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Shelby Gross of Taftville, a daughter, Jacqueline Perez of TX, a sister, Catherine Glenn of Montville, 3 brothers, Eustace H. Lewis Jr. of New London, Zaki Abdul-Salaam of N. Stonington, and Keith M. Lewis of Groton, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts , uncles, and friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Donna Love.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Friday from 10-10:45am followed by a service at 11am. Burial in Elm Grove Cemetery.
