Dorothy (Dottie) J. Berger of Londonderry, NH passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 28, 2009.
Dottie was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Wilmington, MA, the daughter of Edna (Rawls) (Berger) Cooper and the late Emil A. Berger. She is a graduate of Windham College in Putney, VT and spent over 30 years in the recreation management field at rehabilitation centers and nursing homes in MA & NH. For the past thirteen years she was the Activity Director at Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Methuen, MA.
Dottie will always be remembered for her loyalty to family and friends, her quick wit and her compassion for those with whom she worked. Her life and her will had considerable impact on all who had the distinct pleasure of laughing with her. The power of her influence cannot be measured but will always be treasured.
She leaves behind dear friend Phyllis Comeau of Londonderry, her mother Edna Cooper of Windsor, NC; brother Frederick Berger of Chambersburg,PA; son Brian Berger of Derry, NH and nieces Lorrie Berger of Taunton, MA; Lisa Cannon of Norfolk, MA and Lynette Doyle of Massapequa Park, NY. She also leaves behind great nephew Austin Cannon V, and great niece Kaitlyn Doyle. Her loving and supportive friends include Mary Lloyd, the Stuart family and the Morgano family.
Following cremation, private burial will be held in the Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the organization her father helped establish over 40 years ago; Wilmington Family Counseling Service, 5 Middlesex Ave, Suite 11, Wilmington, MA 01887. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling arrangements.
