Obituary

Mr. Joseph M. DePippo, age 85, of Somerville passed away November 28th, at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (LaBrecque) and together they shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Lawrence, MA he was the son of the late Marco and Rose (Rinaldi) DePippo.

Joseph was a Somerville resident for most of his life. He was self employed and worked for many years selling and installing window draperies and home decorations. Joseph was a real "handy man” he loved fix things and working with his hands. Joseph was also a United States Army Veteran of WWII, honorably serving from 1943 to 1945. He was a happy go lucky person and always had smile and loved to laugh. One of his greatest joys was ballroom dancing on Saturday nights. He also enjoyed playing the tambourines.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his children, Joe DePippo of Jamaica Plain, Mark DePippo of Saugus, and Lori DePippo of Malden. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Toni DePippo, Mark DePippo Jr., Daniel Cadieux, Dominique DePippo, and Sophia Maloney. He is further survived by his sister, Annie McPhearson of Somerville and is predeceased by his sister, the late Mary Kelley, and half brother, the late Richard Giorgio.

Visiting hours for Joseph will be held on Tuesday, December 1st, at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford from 4 thru 8 PM. A graveside service will be held at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne on Wednesday, December 2nd, at a time to be announced. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
