Barbara Ann (May) Darling of Wilmington, formerly of Wakefield passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2009. She was 82 years of age.
Born in Boston, May 3, 1927 she was the daughter of Elsie A. (Wenner) and Robert E. May. She will be missed by her daughter Alison Evans and her husband Jeffrey, of Methuen; and her daughter Melanie Gorey and her husband Vincent of Wakefield. She was predeceased in 1979 by her son, Carl W. Darling. She is the grandmother of Jessica Ann Warren of Methuen, Amanda Lynn Gorey and Michelle Rose Gorey both of Wakefield. Barbara was the sister of the late Robert C. May. She was the sister in law of Dorothy May of Rochester, New Hampshire. Barbara was the aunt of her dear niece Laurel Zeri and nephews Robert May, John May and David May.
A Memorial Service Celebrating Barbara’s Life will be held on Wednesday at 1pm in The Greenwood Union Church, 4 Oak St., Wakefield. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Tuesday from 5-8 pm in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot on Linden St.
