Casey Martin, 45, of New Bedford died Friday November 20, 2009 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late J. Warren "Casey" Martin and Edith (Flowers) Martin, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Martin was formerly employed as a commercial fisherman sailing out of the Port of New Bedford.
He enjoyed bicycling, painting lighthouse models, and his cat Calli.
Survivors include a son, Richard C. Racine-Martin of Dartmouth; his stepmother, Augusta Martin of Fairhaven; his friend and caregiver, Kathy Mandeville of New Bedford; a stepdaughter, Heather Gonsalves of New Bedford; a stepbrother, Anthony Dutra and his wife Carol of New Bedford; a stepsister, Diane LeBoeuf of Dartmouth; a step-grandson, Dyllin Monaghan; and nieces and nephews.
