Bascom, Miriam age 72 of Teaneck, NJ died Thursday, November 19, 2009. Beloved wife of Richard Jara. Dear sister of Josefina Betancourt and niece of Celeste Perez. Loving grandmother of Noel, Vinny, Sarita, and Viviana Despradel. Cherished great-grandmother of Gabriel and Anello Despradel, and Sarah and Alyssa Meikle. Miriam was a schoolteacher for over 35 years with the NYC Public School System. Family and friends are invited to visit Friday 7-9PM, Saturday and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9PM at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Rd., Teaneck. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday at 11:30AM at Holy Trinity RC Church, Hackensack. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park.
