Obituary

Peter P. Gallo, 88, of Westport died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was husband of the late Edith R. (Hansen) Gallo.

Born in Fall River, son of the late Lawrence and Virginia (Mazzula) Gallo, he had lived in Westport since 1979. Following his father’s footsteps, who was a WWI veteran, he was a United States Army veteran of WWII, serving his country in the Battle of Anzio, Italy. Prior to retiring in 1983, he was the senior division director of the Thomas Chew Memorial Boys Club in Fall River. Mr. Gallo enjoyed singing, dancing, karaoke, painting, making toys for children and spending time at the beach.

Survivors include a brother: Richard Gallo of Brunswick, GA; a sister: Mildred Gifford of NY; 3 grandchildren: Scott A. Morrissette, Todd A. Morrissette and Kimberly A. Rego; 3 great grandchildren: Hannah, Vivian and Jacob Morrissette; and several nieces and nephews.

He was father of the late Robert R. Morrissette and brother of the late Paul Gallo and Larry Gallo.

Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Visitation will be from 8:30 – 9:30 A.M. at the Potter Funeral Home prior to the Mass.

Interment will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
