Andre M. “Andy” Champagne, 81, a resident of Methuen, MA. A former life long resident of Lawrence, Massachusetts, died on Friday, November 20, 2009 at the Mary Immaculate Restorative/Nursing Center in Lawrence, MA.
He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on August 23, 1928 to Octave and Delia (Moran) Champagne. He was educated in St. Ann’s Grammar School he played for St. Ann’s Crusaders, and attended Lawrence High School. During the Korean War he served in the United States Army here he was stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville Alabama. He worked as Plant Manager for Star-Tronics and EG&G in Georgetown, MA until his retirement. After his retirement he was employed by General Auto of Lawrence, MA. He was a member of the Lawrence Elks Lodge BPOE #65 in Lawrence, MA. He was also a long time parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish at St. Theresa Church in Methuen, MA.
He leaves his loving wife Theresa (Stopyra) Champagne also one daughter: Michelle Champagne-Saltman and her husband Michael Saltman of Lawrence, MA. One son: Joseph and his wife Charlene Champagne of Yorba Linda, CA, three grandchildren: Shaun & Nicholas Saltman of Lawrence, MA. And Zakary Champagne of Yorba Linda, CA. As well as his loving sister: Theresa Walsh of Burlington, MA, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers: Henry C. Champagne & Leo Champagne and his sisters Agnes Champagne & Gertrude Ouelette.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, St. Theresa Church 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen, MA. 01844, a burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
