Obituary

Mary Barbara (Doherty) Maloney, 87 years of Halifax formerly of West Bridgewater died Friday November 20, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Francis W. Maloney, Sr. Mary was born in Brockton, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (McEachron) Doherty. As a child she loved to sing and dance; appearing in several area talent shows as well as the Brockton Fair. Mary was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1940 and attended the former Brockton Business School. She was a waitress for many years at the former Merrimac Restaurant in Easton. She was past President of the former 20th century club in Brockton, a longtime communicant of St. Ann's Church in West Bridgewater and an active member of the Senior Center in Halifax where she enjoyed the many activities and day trips spent with friends. Her passion in life was her family. She enjoyed time spent with her children and took great pride in all the activities of her grand and great grandchildren. Her family has described her as the most wonderful mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed.

She was the loving mother of Carol A. Oakhem of Carver; Francis W. Maloney, Jr. and his wife Eileen of Wareham, Robert H. Maloney and his wife Nancy of Halifax and the late Mary C. Parsons. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 9 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, W. Bridgewater at 10 am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7pm.
