Obituary

WORCESTER__Dr. Robert A. Bolduc, 96, of Worcester, died peacefully at Rose Monahan Hospice House on Monday. November 16, 2009. He was born on August 14, 1913 in Worcester the son of Philippe H. and Albertine (Martin) Bolduc. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul P. Bolduc and three sisters, Gertrude B. Jacques, Lucile B. Brault and Pierrette B. Bourke. He leaves fifteen nieces and nephews and their families.

Dr. Bolduc graduated from North High School in 1931, Clark University in 1935 and Tufts University School of Medicine in 1939 where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He was a Major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps serving in the South Pacific during World War II.

Dr. Bolduc's surgical practice began in Worcester in 1949 where he remained until his retirement in 1984. He was on the Surgical Staff's of Worcester Hahnemann Hospital and Worcester State Hospital. He held 50 year memberships in the Worcester District Medical Society, the Massachusetts Medical Society, and the American Medical Association. He belonged to the Clark University Alumni Association, Tufts University Alumni Association and was a charter member of the Clark University Legacy Society. He was also a proud member of the French Institute of Assumption College. Dr. Bolduc was baptized in St. Joseph Church and was a longtime member of Notre Dame des Canadiens Church now known as Holy Family Parish.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass for Dr. Bolduc on Saturday, November 21, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Joseph Church at Holy Family Parish, 35 Hamilton Street. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dr. Robert A. Bolduc Endowed Scholarship Fund at Clark University, 950 Main Street, Worcester, Ma., 01610 or to the Marie Anne Center (Sisters of Saint Anne) at St. Bernard Church, 236 Lincoln Street, Worcester, Ma., 01605.
