SUTTON-Frances T. (Healey) Byrne, 83, of Sutton, formerly of Worcester, died Thursday, November 19th in the Jewish Healthcare and Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. Her beloved husband of 58 years, James H. Byrne died in 2006. She was the daughter of Daniel and Bridget (Harte) Healey. She leaves her seven children, Maureen Veshi and her husband Peter of Sterling, Nancy Byrne of Sutton, with whom she lived, Jack Byrne and his wife Robin of Holden, Kathleen DiStefano and her husband Daniel of Worcester, Marie Kelleher and her husband Peter of Sutton, Eileen Gregoire and her husband Paul of Worcester and Mary Rennie and her husband John of Oxford; 12 grandchildren; two great grandsons; three sister-in-laws, Elizabeth (Byrne) Mahoney, Ethel (Goodson) Byrne and Doris (Coonan) Healey; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brothers, Paul and James Healey and her sisters, Rose Nystrom and Mary and Claire Healey.
Frances was born and raised in Worcester. She devoted her life to her loving family and strong faith in the Catholic Church. Frances was a founding member of Saint Joan of Arc Church. Frances had a special place in her heart for her loving pets. The family would like to thank the staff of the Jewish Healthcare and Hospice for the outstanding care and support given to Frances and her family.
The funeral is Monday, November 23rd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, November 22nd from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
