Marjorie T. (Moynihan) Guerra, 83 years old of Hanson, formerly of Brockton died Sunday November 15, 2009 at Coyne Healthcare Center in Rockland after a period of failing health. She was the loving wife for 44 years of Bruno G. Guerra.
Born and raised in Brockton Marjorie was a daughter of the late John J. and Margaret V. (Fitzgerald) Moynihan and had been a resident of Hanson since 1993. She was a 1944 graduate of Brockton High School and was involved in dance and women’s sports. Marjorie retired from Ward Machine Company in Brockton where she had been a bookkeeper for 50 years. In her younger years she had worked for Dr. Rankin, a Brockton dentist. Marjorie loved to travel with her husband and friends around the United States and Canada and also enjoyed reading, crossword and word search puzzles. Marjorie had been a longtime member of the 20th Century Catholic Club in Brockton.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her sister Eleanor D. Moynihan of Brockton and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Francis W. Moynihan and Mary K. Moynihan and was widowed at a young age when her first husband John McRae died.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 8:30 am. Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, W. Bridgewater at 9:30 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 pm.
