In Taunton, November 14, 2009 of Summer St in Taunton, Helen C. (O’Connell) Sullivan wife of the late George L. Sullivan died at Marion Manor Nursing Home in Taunton at the age of 95. Born in Taunton and educated at St. Mary’s High School in Taunton, Helen was the daughter of the late William and Ellen (Gregg) O’Connell. Helen owned and operated Helen’s Custom Dress Shop in Taunton for over Twenty Years also worked for Princess House as a manager and worked for many group homes for the mentally changed. Helen received a Volunteer Excellence Award in the city of Taunton in 1991 for her care and time with elder services. She also donated dresses for the Bishop Cassidy Fashion Show to raise funds for their charily. She belonged to the mother’s guild of the brothers of the holy cross and was an avid Boston sports fan. Helen was the mother of George L. Sullivan Jr. of Taunton, Paul J. Sullivan and his wife Leah of Virginia, William H. Sullivan and his wife Jacqueline of Norwood and Ginny M. Ferreira and her husband Dan of Taunton. Grandmother of John and Michael Sullivan of Virginia, Daniel and Melissa Sullivan of Norwood. Great Grandmother of Joyce Leah Sullivan of Virginia. Sister in-law of Beryl O’Connell of Sandwich and Merriam Sullivan of Taunton. Sister of the late Buck, John, Edward and Paul O’Connell. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton, Wed November 18th at 9:45 am. Funeral Mass will be held at Marion Manor Chapel in Taunton at 10:45 am. Calling hours will be held on Tues at the funeral home from 4-7 pm. Interment St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
