Alice F. ( Brown ) Barrett, a forty – seven year resident of Stoughton, formerly of South Boston, passed away at home on Saturday November 14, 2009. She was 85 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard M. Barrett Sr. to whom she was married to for over 50 years. She was the loving mother of Howard M. Barrett Jr. and Marjorie E. Barrett both of Stoughton, James S. Barrett and his wife Nancy of Brockton and Paul E. Barrett of Middleboro. She is also survived by her brother Donald Brown of South Boston and her 6 grandchildren. She was also a sister to the late Anna Milroy.
Born November 6, 1924 in Boston, Massachusetts Alice was a daughter to the late Whitman and Margaret ( McEachern ) Brown. She attended Boston Public Schools.
Mrs. Barrett was employed as an Administrative Assistant by the Morse Shoe Company in Canton, Massachusetts for over twenty years retiring in 1982.
She attended and was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Stoughton. She was a Sunday School Teacher at the church and also was an active member of the Woman’s Fellowship Group.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 17, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in The Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. The Rev. Althea Jackson, officiating. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
Visiting Hours will be held on Monday November 16, 2009 from 4 – 8 P.M. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton.
