Frederick A. Hambly. Jr., 79, of Hixville Rd., N. Dartmouth died Friday, November 13, 2009 at Sacred Heart Home, New Bedford. He was the husband of the late Pauline (Iveson) Hambly.
Born in Acushnet, he was son of the late Frederick A. and Mildred (Cowen) Hambly. A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Army. He was a truck driver, semi-retiring to work for Roby's Gas Service until his illness. Mr. Hambly was a member of the Cortez Allen O.E.S. Noquochoke Chapter, Westport and the Noquochoke Lodge AF & AM, Westport.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Fredette “Bunny” O’Connor of Dartmouth and Linda “Kim” Reynolds of E. Freetown; a sister: Harriet Cano of Montrose, CO; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was father of the late Cynthia Sylvia.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Visitation will be from 9 - 10 A.M. prior to the service.
Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Westport.
