Richard A. Lavallee, 66, of 21 Taylor St. passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after a courageous fight with multiple myeloma. He was born in Laconia on July 27, 1937, the son of Arthur and Irene (Gagne) Lavallee.
He was raised in Laconia and following his graduation from Laconia High School in 1955; he served in the Air Force for four years. In addition, he served in the New Hampshire National Guard for ten years.
Mr. Lavallee lived for ten years in Florida and returned to Laconia in 1970. He owned and operated Lavallee & Son Tree Service for more than twenty years. At the time of his illness, he was employed at Scapa/Prax Air of Salem NH.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family.
Family members include his wife, Rita (Johnson) Lavallee of Laconia; a son Stephen Lavallee of Laconia; three daughters, Deborah Clark of Wells Maine, Michelle Bryson of Sanbornton and Sonya Moore of Campton; seven grandchildren, Jacalyn Hood, Thomas Clark, Tasha Clark, Deven Adkins, James Adkins, Cyle Moore and Emily Moore; a great grandchild, Haily Hood; a sister, Theresa Joy of Leominster MA; a brother, Michael Lavallee of Tilton; nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son, James R. Lavallee on July 21, 1984.
Calling hours were in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Sunday from 4 to 6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated In St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St. Monday at 1 PM. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, pastor was the celebrant. Burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
