Phyllis Person Blount, 61, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born in Water Valley, MS on July 23, 1948 to Richard and Bessie Fay Murphy Person. She attended Bethel Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and homemaking. She worked many years as a beautician.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2009 from 1:30 pm until service time at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Jimmy Dale Sartain and Bro. James Edwards officiating. The committal will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Richard Russo, Kevin Patterson, Will Sims, Joey Hogan, Eddie Magee and James Person serving as pallbearers.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Bobby G. Blount, of Water Valley, MS; one son, Billy Blount and his wife, Rebecca; and one granddaughter, Kathryn Lane Blount, of Huntsville, AL. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Glenn Person, and a grandson, Andrew Stanford Blount.
