Euclides "Eukie" Lage, 84, of New bedford died November 13, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Antonio C. and Anna C. (Ferreira) Lage, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Lage was formerly employed as a pharmacist at Lincoln Pharmacy for many years until his retirement.
He was an artist and enjoyed attending Senior Art Class at Brooklawn Park.
Mr. Lage served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two nieces, Elaine Reggiani and her husband Alfred and Sheryl Wagner, all of Acushnet; a nephew, Scott Wagner of New Bedford; a cousin, Dolores Furtado of New Bedford; a great-niece and two great-nephews.
He was the brother of the late Elvira Newton.
His family will receive guests on Monday morning, November 16th from 8 - 9:30 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford followed by his Funeral Mass in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
