Shrewsbury—John J. Pustis, 54, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly while vacationing in Florida. He leaves his devoted, loving wife of 33 years and soul mate, Sheila Joy (Mulcahy) Pustis; three wonderful sons, John P. Pustis and his wife Nicole (Elworthy), of Shrewsbury who are expecting their first child, Makenna in February; Christopher A. Pustis and his fiancée Ashley Ouimet of Shrewsbury, and Daniel J. Pustis of Shrewsbury.

Pustis and wife Lisa of Andover, Mary Beth Clason and her husband Kurt of North Waterboro, ME, as well as 16 nieces and nephews.
He was born in Worcester, son of John and Biruta (Trunce) Pustis. He was raised in West Boylston. He resided on Lake Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury; devoting his life to his wife and family. John graduated from West Boylston High School and attained a B.S. degree from the University of Lowell in industrial management. He worked as a production planner for most of his career. His real joy was building their dream post and beam home and the landscape wall on the lake. He also used his skills to renovate multiple homes with his children by his side.

He was a member of the Worcester Scans soccer team and Boy Scouts: Troop 151 West Boylston Order of the Arrow Packachog Lodge 525 where he did Indian dancing. He had a passion for snow skiing and also enjoyed fishing with his son Daniel, hiking the White Mountains, soccer, and sunset boat rides with his Hun. John became a gourmet cook in recent years enjoying cooking for his family. For all the boys’ sports he was a mainstay on the side line, coaching many of the boys Shrewsbury youth soccer teams.

John’s life was shortened unexpectedly, but he fulfilled his role as a father and mentor to his three children. They were his life and they have become the three finest young men. All of life is a circle. John is surrounded by the eternal love of Jesus until we see him again.
