Albert E. Dudley age 84 of Salem, NH, passed away Monday, Nov. 9 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born July 31, 1925 in Methuen, MA, son of the late William and Edna (King) Dudley. Albert was the fifth of nine children and attended Lawrence schools.
Beloved husband of Marion (Butler) Dudley, they shared 61 years of marriage, living in South Lawrence, MA for fifty years, before moving to Salem, NH in 2006
Prior to retiring, Albert was a self employed automotive tool distributor in the greater Lawrence area for twenty five years, and was previously service manager for a Buick agency in Lawrence, MA.
A kind and generous man, he enjoyed woodworking, genealogy, reading, family photography, playing scrabble, and was an avid flower gardener. He will be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. He was an attendant of New England Bible Church in Andover, MA.
Besides his wife, survivors include two special daughters; Joyce and her husband Robert Hilgendorf of Methuen, MA, and Lynne Michaud and her fiancé Douglas Butler of Rochester, NH. Five wonderful sons and daughters in law; Jeffrey and his wife Kathleen Dudley of Salem, NH, Thomas Dudley of Memphis, TN, Daniel and his wife Jeanne Dudley of Deltona, FL, John and his wife Kelly Dudley of Londonderry, NH, and Kenneth and his wife Christine Dudley of Salem, NH.
He was “Papa” to seventeen loving grandchildren; Debra, Colleen, Jeffrey, Brian, Kristina, Laura, David, Richard, James, Jason, Erin, Gianna, Selena, Daniel, Jason, Tarah and Aaron. He was “Papa the Great” to ten adorable great grandchildren; Madelyn, Nicolas, Lauren, Ethan, Tessa, Peter, Hailey, Arianna, Rianne and Logan. He was also survived by brothers; Donald Dudley of Orlando, FL, Frank Dudley of Haverhill, MA, and Edward Dudley of Stuart, FL. Sisters; Elizabeth Labrecque of Methuen, MA, and Marion Sharkey of Titusville, FL, and many nieces & nephews.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, Nov. 12th from 9:30 AM till 11 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. Cremation will follow.
