Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Andrew LaRosa, 74, died Saturday, November 7, 2009 surrounded by his family following a brief illness at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the husband of Marie A. (Aiello) LaRosa.
Born in Milazzo, Italy on July 20, 1935, he was the son of the late Francesco and Santa (Milone) LaRosa. He came to the United States to reside in Gloucester in October of 1964.
Andrew was a self-employed finish carpenter, specializing in kitchens and baths. He had also worked at the former King’s Grant in Danvers for several years before his retirement. He was a member of the Gloucester Lodge of Elks No. 892 and a social member of the Capt. Lester S. Wass Post #3, American Legion.
In addition to his wife of forty-four years, he is survived by three daughters, Sandra M. LaRosa and her companion, Bruce McCorry of Middleton, Linda A. and her husband, Christopher Concheri of North Reading and Frances R. and her husband, Rudy Sanchez of Beverly, three grandchildren, Samantha Lane, Luke Sanchez and Collin Concheri and a special aunt, Catherine Fontana. He was also predeceased by a brother, Vincenzo LaRosa and a sister, Maria LaRosa.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday in the Our Lady of Good Voyage Church at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, c/o Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
