Margaret Frances Powell Goforth, 86, of Tifton died Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Edwin Dillard will officiate with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. Her grandsons, Andy Goforth, Randall Goforth, Bobby Goforth, Kenny Goforth, Jason Huggins, Will Goforth, Tim Goforth and Tony Goforth will serve as pallbearers. The family with receive friends on Monday, November 9, 2009, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Goforth was born on November 22, 1922 in Lee County and was the daughter of John Ambrose Powell and Nannie Lou Spillers Powell, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Lloyd “W. L.” Goforth; one son, Bobby Evan Goforth, Sr.; and five brothers and sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of Believers Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Goforth is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, William and Sue Goforth of Sycamore and Jack Goforth of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Billy Canter of Tifton and Linda and Jerry Huggins of Tifton; 15 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
