TEWKSBURY - John H. "Jack" LeFave, age 54, a former employee of W.R.Grace chemical company, died Friday, November 6, at Saints Medical Center in Lowell following a 36 year battle with juvenile diabetes. He was the fiance of Janie Rogers of Lowell, who has been his love, support, primary care-giver, and companion for several years.
He was born in Melrose, MA, August 9, 1955, a son of the late John H. and Dorothy V. (Poore) LeFave, was raised in Tewksbury and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School with the Class of 1973.
Prior to his disability retirement, he was a chemical control room operator for the W.R. Grace Company in Woburn. He was a loyal Patriots fan; he enjoyed chess, skiing, and shooting pool. He enjoyed travelling, particularly to Salisbury beach, Foxwoods and Las Vegas. He was active as an Elk in the Lawrence B.P.O.E., Lodge 65.
Throughout his long illness he never lost his faith, zest for life and unique sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by his fiance, family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Besides his fiance, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Sean H. and Rebecca (Scott) LeFave of Nashua, NH; a sister, Doreen R. Mulroney of Dracut; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Steven A. and Joan (Gaudette) LeFave of Phillips, ME, and Robert M. LeFave of Tewksbury; six aunts and uncles, Janet and George Carroll of Melrose, Lorraine and George Herman of So. Lawrence, Gloria and Daniel Hovey of Portsmouth, NH; and many cousins.
He was also brother of the late Leslie M. LeFave and uncle of the late Renee M. Mulroney. His family would like to thank Tammy Rogers for her loving care, and the extended Rogers family for their love and support.
His Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, Nov. 11, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial was in Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua, NH. Memorials to the Catholic Charities, 70 Lawrence St., Lowell, MA 01852-2697, www.ccab.org, in his name will be appreciated.
