Verba C. Melton

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Entered into rest Friday, November 6, 2009 in North Augusta, Mrs. Verba C. Melton, 87, wife of the late Hershal Hanes Melton.
Mrs. Melton was a native and life long resident of Augusta. She was a member of Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Melton was a retired nurse. She was a licensed cosmetologist and a licensed airplane pilot. She loved to play bridge, loved golf, loved the Atlanta Braves, loved to dance, and was a huge fan of Neil Diamond. Mrs. Melton also loved her dogs: Charlie, Smokey, and Caroline. All of her children and grandchildren were loved equally.
Family members include her sons: Jeffery Mark Melton and wife Sharon of North Augusta, SC, Joseph B. Melton and wife Retta of Augusta; daughter: Gail Hendrix and husband Larry of Augusta; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Hershal H. Melton and a son Hershal H. Melton.
