Sheena (Leggat) Murray, 80, of Bridgewater, formerly of Whitman, died, Thursday November 5th, after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to Adam L. Y. Murray. Sheena was born and brought up in Barrhead, Scotland, and moved here 60 years ago. She was the daughter of the late James M. and Magdaline (Keir) Leggat.
Sheena was a Whitman resident for 30 years, where she was a bookkeeper for their landscaping business. She and her husband then moved to Bridgewater 20 years ago.
She was a member of the United Methodist church in Whitman and active in the charity Club, member of the Eastern Star and also active in the 89ers club.
In addition to her husband of 60 years, she is survived by her son Dana Murray of Carver, her daughter Deborah McKenna and her husband Hugh of Bridgewater; also grandmother of 4 and great grandmother of 10, as well as many relatives in Scotland.
Her services will be held on Monday November 9th at 11:00AM in the United Methodist Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater. Visitation will be on Sunday November 8th in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, from 3:00-6:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the United Methodist Church, 503 South Ave, Whitman, MA 02382.
