Obituary

Jeanne M. L'Esperance 69, of 429 East School St. died Wednesday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Alexander J. L'Esperance. Mrs. L'Esperance was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Leo M. Lambert and Marguerite (Goffart) Lambert Joyal. Jeanne was a submarine welder for General Dynamics, she also worked at Tech Industries for many years. She was a member of the St. Germain Manor Club. Jeanne volunteered at Hasbro's Children's Hospital and crocheted many baby items that she donated to infants that were victims of aids. She received a proclamation stating October 19, 1998 as Jeanne L'Esperance Day in appreciation of her volunteerism at the St. Germain Manor Meal Site. Jeanne also loved to fish.

She is survived by five children, Suzanne R. Pina and her husband David of North Smithfield, Marie-Ann C. Tisdell and her husband Norman III, of Webster MA, Richard C. Carey of Smithfield, Diane L. Sagaties and her husband Stanley of NC, and Alexander J. L'Esperance III and his fiancée Julie Sultzman of Woonsocket. She is also survived by two brothers George Joyal of Woonsocket, and Leo J. Lambert of New Jersey, three sisters Lucille Hetu of Cumberland, Doris Coutu of Florida, and Pauline Lasecki of North Carolina, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2-4 PM at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a service in the funeral home Sunday at 4:00 PM.
