Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Timothy E. Hampton, 48, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at his residence. He was the husband of Lisa M. (Asaro) Hampton.
Born in Martinsville, Indiana on January 2, 1961 he was the son of Darrel Hampton of Arizona and the late Anna K. (Miller) Barker. He was a graduate of the Martinsville High School class of 1979. Tim had resided in Fort Myers, Florida for many years until moving to Massachusetts in 2007.
While in Florida, he was the manager of Abby’s Car Dealership in Fort Myers. He had recently worked in sales at Salem Plumbing Designer Bath, Beverly and had also been employed on a part-time basis by Grondin Funeral Services.
He was a huge Chicago Bears and NASCAR racing fan. Sports statistics were his forte and he enjoyed being a member of the Fantasy Football League. He loved the time he spent at Fort Myers Beach and more recently he could often be found by the water at Stacy Boulevard enjoying time with his son, Nick.
He will be remembered as a gentle person with a big heart who was always willing to lend a hand. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his daughter, Katherine Barker, fiancée of Cory Marple of Aurora, IL, two sons, Ryan, husband of Ashlie Hampton of Orlando, FL and Nicolas E. Hampton of Gloucester, two granddaughters, Alyssa and Riley Marple, two sisters, Denise Ladzick of OR and Diane Manning of KS. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Vincent, husband of Cynthia Asaro, sister-in-law, Laurey, wife of Michael Tedesco, brother-in-law, John Asaro, and nieces and nephews, Whitney and Blake Ladzick, Rebecca, Britney, Kimberly and Jeremiah Manning, Michael and Krista Tedesco and Anthony Asaro and among many cousins, Michael Snyder and a host of dear friends. He was predeceased by his son, Lex V. Hampton.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday morning in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the family. Interment will be held in Edinburgh, Indiana.
