Marian Louise (Doody) Leonard, 82 of Medway died November 5 in her home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the loving wife of Robert E. Leonard for the past 57 years.
Born in Brockton, August 28, 1927, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Adeline (Lynch) Doody, Mrs. Leonard had lived in Medway since 1952.
She had been a homemaker until her children grew up, then she worked as a secretary at Holliston Junior College and Tri-County Regional High School in Franklin.
Mrs. Leonard was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was an avid reader, walker and knitter and enjoyed camping at Bourne Scenic Park with her family.
In her early years, she was also an avid roller-skater. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and close circle of friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Dorothy A. Martin and her husband Douglas of Falmouth, Robert E. Leonard Jr. and his wife Milu of Taunton, Michael J. Leonard of Attleboro and Daniel Joseph Leonard of Falmouth.
She was the sister of the late Lawrence Doody and Anne Malley.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Leonard, Edward, Robert Edward, Michael Daniel, Robert Horst and Courtney.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, November 9 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5-8 p.m.
