Worcester – Richard W. Grant, 65, of Worcester died on Tuesday, November 3rd in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence after an illness.
Richard leaves behind his wife of 29 years Barbara A. (Russell) Grant; two sisters Carolyn Wood of Leicester and Judith Kiefer of Worcester; an aunt Barbara Doyle and her husband William of Hanover, NH; his constant canine companion Dandy and nieces and nephews. He was born in Everett, MA son of the late George and Eileen (O’Rourke) Grant and graduated from both Leicester High School and Becker Junior College.
Mr. Grant is a veteran of the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Altair during the Vietnam War.
He worked as an industrial electrical salesman, most recently for Keystone Electric, Graybar Electric and Standard Electric. Richard was a member of the Quinsigamond Lodge of Masons, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Masons, the National American Legion and the Shriners. Mr. Grant was also an avid sportsman and an environmentalist.
After cremation family and friends are invited to gather at the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. on Friday, November 6th, from 4 to 7 PM. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
