Sabino N. “Sam” Marochino, 94 years of Brockton, died peacefully November 3, 2009 under the loving care of the staff at the Guardian Center. Husband of the late Caroline E. (Ricci) Marochino. Sam had been a lifelong resident of Brockton, son of the late Genarino and Congetta (DiStefano) Marochino. He was a WWII veteran who served in the US Army in the Eighth Armored Division where he maintained, serviced and made minor repairs on all small arms weapons. He was a skilled shoe worker and had been employed by Commonwealth Shoe, Stetson Shoe and ET Wright, retiring at the age of 72. Sam was a hardworking man who loved his family, enjoyed spending time with his great and great great nieces and nephews, traveling with his late wife Caroline, watching boxing and history.
He is survived by his children Elaine F. Marochino and Robert F. Marochino both of Brockton and Joan M. Dion and her husband Stephen of Raynham. He was the brother of James Marochino of Surprise, AZ, Edith Gennaco of Brockton and the late Angelina Marochino, Rose Rivers and Jenny Froio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Christ The King Parish at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 4-7pm.
