Joan F. (O'Brien) Costa, 75, of New Bedford died Sunday November 1, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford on March 22, 1934, the daughter of the late John and Noella (Manny) O'Brien, she lived in New Bedford her entire life.
Mrs. Costa was formerly employed as a nurse's assistant for many years until her retirement.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam Cruz of New Bedford and Susan Lozada of Key West, FL; three grandchildren, Dennis "D.J." and Kendra Cruz and Morgan Mendes; two great-grandchildren; and her former husband, Gilbert Costa of Florida.
She was the sister of the late Raymond O'Brien.
