Salem: Donald J. Comeau age 59 of Salem, died Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Carol A. (Emmett) Comeau with whom he shared 14 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Dora G. (Dube) Comeau. Don worked in the construction industry most of his life and the last company he was employed by was the Metropolitan Waterproofing & Restoration Co. He retired from Metropolitan in 2007 when he became disabled. He has been a resident of Salem for the past 20 years.
In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by a son, Jason Comeau and his wife Susan and a daughter, Lisa D'Avolio and her husband Erik all of Methuen. A brother Norman Comeau and his wife Pat of Salem, NH, a sister, Rosalie Tremblay of Lawrence, 3 grandchildren, 2 nieces, Nicole Karakaya, Robin Dole, a nephew Timothy Croteau and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial mass on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, on Rt. 114 on the Salem / Peabody line. A committal service will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. There will be no visiting hours. Funeral arrangements are through the Levesque Funeral Home of Salem.
