John was born in Manchester on April 20, 1916, to Ludwik and Barbara (Kozien) Garczynski.
John graduated from Franklin Grammar School.
John served in the 172nd New Hampshire National Guard and in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant in World War II, earning the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Befores retiring, he worked for MKM and Velcro USA. He was predeceased by his wife, Sophie (Krzeminski) Garczynski in 1991.
Family members include twin sons, Stephen J. Garczynski of Merrimack, and Thomas C. Garczynski of Old Town, Idaho; a daughter, Diane Baker of Manchester; a sister, Wanda Grecoe of Andover, Mass.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
IN HIS LIFE: He was predeceased by five brothers, Stanley, Walter, Matthew, Stephen and his infant brother in 1918. He liked to spend time at the YMCA in the 20's and 30's. He enjoyed fishing after his retirement, and grocery shopping.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St., Manchester. A funeral mass will follow on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Cathedral, 166 Pearl St. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
