Obituary

Silvio F. Capone, 84 of East Walpole died November 1 in his home. He was the husband of Helen (Iafolla) Capone for the past 59 years.
Born in East Walpole, July 11, 1925, the son of the late James and Angelina (Caponi) Capone, Mr. Capone was a lifelong East Walpole resident.
Mr. Capone was a graduate of Boston Trade School.
Mr. Capone worked for the United States Postal Service for 38 years. From 1978 until his retirement in 1991; he was the Postmaster of the East Walpole Post Office.
Mr. Capone served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He had been active in the Walpole Council on Aging, the Norwood Seniors Club, and the Italian American Club of which he was the former treasurer.
Mr. Capone had been a RTM Member in Walpole and served as a Poll worker at elections for many years.
He enjoyed playing horseshoes, bocce ball and golf and was an avid sports fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Nancy Natale and her husband Philip of Sharon, Janice Cunnane and her husband Kevin of Wrentham and Robert Capone and his wife Ruth of Westwood.
He is also survived by his brothers, Daniel and Anthony Capone of East Walpole and sisters Virginia Gambrazzio of Stoughton and Annie Parlato of Needham and the late Pellegrino Capone, Louise Lorusso and Pauline Giandomenico.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jason, Eric, Jessica, Robert, Jennifer, Michael and Mariel.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 4 from the Ginley Funeral Home 892 Main St. in Walpole at 8:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 9:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Vine Lake Cemetery in Medfield.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
