WORCESTER-Lois A. (Baldwin) Childs, 58, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, November 1st after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert A. Childs and her son, Gregory A. Childs, both of Worcester. She is also survived by her sister, Julianne, wife of Gerald Creamer of Shrewsbury, and two brothers; John Baldwin and his wife Elizabeth of Yantic, CT, and William Baldwin of Worcester; and several nephews and nieces.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Julianne (Murphy) Baldwin and John J. Baldwin.
Lois graduated from the former Marion High School. After graduation, she became a secretary at Norton Company. She always recalled fond memories of the early years of her marriage when she lived in Portland, Oregon. There, she had the opportunity to extensively tour the American West and bear her son, Greg. In the late 90’s, she spent time in and toured India with her husband who was on assignment in Chennai.
Her deepest concerns were always for the care of others. In addition to caring for her immediate family, she took great joy in
caring for her grand nieces until it became time to take on the long
term care role for her parents who passed away in 2007 and 2008.
