Funeral services for Vernell Summers Saylor, 88, of Ashburn, GA. will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Damascus Methodist Church in Worth Co., GA. Mrs. Saylor passed away Saturday at Tift Regional Hospital following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the Damascus Methodist Church cemetery.
The daughter of the late Joseph Emory and James Leona Slocumb Summers, she was born in Tift Co. and was a homemaker. She was the widow of Clarence Saylor and a member of the Damascus Methodist Church. She also enjoyed reading, making quilts and crafts.
Survivors include her children, Betty J. (William D.) Parrott, Fayetteville, GA, Clarence H. (Joyce) Saylor, James Melvin (Elaine) Saylor and William M. (Sandra) Saylor all of Ashburn, GA. She is also survived by her brothers, J. C. Summers, Ashburn, GA, Raiford Summers, TN, and Travis Summers, Lakeland, FL; Four grandchildren, Five great-grandchildren, Four step-grandchildren and Seven step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from seven until nine at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
