Obituary

Salem, NH – Charles M. Cardoza, 87, died Thursday at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen.
Born in Lawrence Mr. Cardoza was the son of Martin and Virginia (Santos) Cardoza, and graduated from Lawrence High School in “1939”.
He had been employed as the Superintendant of the Lawrence District Court House.
Charles was a communicant of Saint Matthews Church in Windham, NH, and prior to its closing was a communicant of Saints Peter and Paul Portuguese Church in Lawrence. He was also a member of the Portuguese American Civic League of Lawrence, the Lawrence Lodge of Elks B.P.O.E. # 65, and during world war II served his country in the United States Army prior to his honorable discharge at wars end.
He was considered to be the consummate 45’s card player in his family.
He was predeceased by his first wife Marcelle (Gosselin) Cardoza, and most recently was the widower of Rose A. (Cabral) Cardoza. Survivors include four children Charlene Lemieux of Methuen, Janice and husband Edward Doucette of Lawrence, Martin and his wife Brenda Cardoza also of Lawrence, Charles and wife Linda Cardoza of Merrimac, Ma., one sister Estelle Saab of Dracut, Ma., 9 grandchildren; Susan, David, Joseph, Michael, Laurie, Cheryl, Melissa, Kristy and Scott, greatgrandchildren Brandon, Cameron, Jacob, Jenna, Timothy, Justin, David and Nicole as well as many nieces and nephews.
Charles was predeceased by his son-inlaw Richard Lemieux, his sisters Adeline Cardoza, and Ezilda Murphy.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock in Saint Matthews Church in Windham, NH, with burial to follow in Saint Marys Cemetery of Lawrence.
Friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
