Barbara A. (Horne) Cowling, 79, of Fall River died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Worcester, daughter of the late Everett Horne and the late Barbara (Jeffrey) Horne Allen, she had lived in Westport for 9 years prior to moving to Fall River. She had worked as a sales clerk for the Fall River Knitting Mill until retiring in 1985. Mrs. Cowling was a great sports enthusiast and enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include a son: Lawrence W. Cowling of Fall River; 3 daughters: Janet A. Tavares of Fall River, Joanne Moore of Pawtucket, RI and Barbara F. Millerick of Fall River; a sister: Betty Danhauser of Marion; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was mother of the late Heidi Cowling and sister of the late Beverly Boan.
