Carol Anne (Jones) Smith, 71 of Norfolk died October 27 at home.
Carol met her husband, the late William R. Smith while working at IBM in New York City and was married to him for 48 years until his death in 2005.
Born in Manhattan, New York, June 4, 1938 the daughter of the late Harry and Clara (Oldham) Jones, Mrs. Smith had lived in Norfolk for the past 40 years.
Mrs. Smith had been the Assistant to the Choir Director at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church for several years.
A talented figure skater, she loved to skate and had also taught figure skating.
Mrs. Smith was deeply involved with her Church, one of her many talents was gardening and she assisted in the landscaping of the Church property.
She enjoyed traveling, throughout the United States and Europe, cooking, baking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son Gary Smith of Norfolk and her daughter Pam Smith Hassan of San Diego California.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Eric, Emma, Dylan and Carson.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, November 1 in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 24 Berwick St. in Norwood at 3:00 p.m.
Burial will be private.
