WORCESTER__Irene M. Bodreau, 88, formerly of Dupont Street, died Sunday, October 25, 2009 in Saint Francis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, 101 Plantation Street.
She leaves many cousins and friends, particularly her caregivers, Sr. Paulette Gardner, SSA, Judith and Richard Zaleski and Roland and Kathy Gardner. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Adolph and Emma (St. Germain) Bodreau.
Miss Bodreau was a secretary 47 years for Atlas News Co., and later for 7 years at St. Joseph’s Rectory. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1938. Irene belonged to St. Joseph Church, later known as Notre Dame - St. Joseph Parish for most of her life. During World War II, she was a member of the Massachusetts Women’s Defense Corps (MWDC) and served as a radio operator. The family would like to thank the staff of Saint Francis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center for the care and concern shown to Irene in her declining years.
The funeral will be held Thursday, Oct. 29, from DIRSA-MORIN
FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph
Church, 35 Hamilton St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick Cemetery, Northbridge.
