WORCESTER - Louise Y. (Rivers) McKay, 72,of 75 Chatham St., died Monday, October 26, in Beaumont Rehab & Skilled Nursing Center after an illness. Her husband of 36 years, Earl W. McKay, Sr., died in 1992.
She leaves 5 daughters, Debra Salvin and her husband Brian of Millbury, Donna Starkweather and her husband Peter of Hubbardston, Kathleen McKay of Bennington, VT, Patricia McKay of Thompson, CT and Lisa McKay of Brookfield; 4 sons, Raymond McKay of North Brookfield, Roland McKay of Worcester, Earl W. McKay, Jr. and his wife Diane of North Brookfield, and Michael D. McKay, with whom she lived; a daughter-in-law and caregiver, Elizabeth D. Lazarick of Worcester; 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Roland, Roger and Leonard Rivers.
She was born and raised in Southbridge, the daughter of Philip and Annette (Lepain) Rivers. She moved to Webster at the time of her marriage in 1956, then lived in Worcester from 1971 to 1978 and in East Brookfield from 1978 to 1992. She returned to Worcester 17 years ago.
Mrs. McKay was a homemaker. She once was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Webster. She was skilled at sewing and cooking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Thursday, October 29, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street, Webster. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 28, in the funeral home.
