Claire M. Barboza, 59, of New Bedford died Thursday August 28, 2003 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Gomes) Barboza.
Born in Freetown, she lived in Freetown for many years before moving to New Bedford 34 years ago.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Cheryle A. Barboza of Swansea and Tisha L. Barboza of New Bedford; 3 sons, Thomas B. Barboza, Corey S. Barboza, and Anthony M. Barboza, all of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Lillian Barros of Taunton and Jenny Stallings of New Bedford; 3 brothers, George Barboza of Freetown, William Barboza and Ernest Barboza, both of New Bedford; 6 granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Henry Barboza, Charles Barboza, and Anthony Barboza.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday September 2, 2003 at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday September 1, 2003 from 7-9 PM.
