Carolyn M. (Sullivan) (Taro) Briggs, 66 years of Brockton died October 25, 2009 at the Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. She was the loving wife of Richard "Dick” Briggs. Born, raised and educated in South Boston, a daughter of the late Timothy and Edith (Tomolillo) Sullivan. For over 25 years she had been employed at the Brockton VA Medical Center. Carolyn was an avid reader, and Boston sports fan and enjoyed crocheting, bowling and jeopardy. She was devoted to her two faithful companions Jack and Jillian.
She is also survived by her children, William Taro, Jr. of Brockton, Susan Silvia and her husband Michael of Brockton, Carolyn (Lynn) Ameno and her husband Patrick of W. Bridgewater, Cheryl Gagnon and her husband Mickel, of Epsom, NH, Lisa Montgomery of Concord, NH, Gloria Desrosiers of RI and Teri Lyons and her husband Ray of Rockland. She was the wonderful grandmother of Elizabeth and Stephen Ameno, Spencer and Kaitlyn Montgomery, Zachary Gagnon, Jimmy, Melissa and Joshua Lyons and Amy and Sarah Desrosiers. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the wife of the late William Taro, Sr. and sister of the late Joseph Sullivan.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 9am. Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, W. Bridgewater at 10am. Visiting Hours Wednesday 5-8pm. Cremation to follow.
