Obituary

Bart W. Latkowski of West Roxbury passed away on October 19, 2009. He was 70 years old.

Bart was born on September 15, 1939 in the village of Witanki in Poland during the beginning of WWII. In 1964 he earned his Masters Degree in Pharmacology from the School of Medicine in Lublin, Poland. Upon completion of his degree, he went to work in the school’s department of toxicology.

In 1971, Bart moved to Boston to attend Northeastern University where he completed his Master’s Degree in Chemistry. Following his time at Northeastern, Bart went to work for several different companies including William Carter and Eastern Color and Chemical where he was a chief chemist for the past 20 years.

In Poland, Bart was very athletic and enjoyed several different sports, such as biking and basketball. His enthusiasm for sports carried over to his time in the United States where he was an avid skier. Bart belonged to the Old Colony Ski Club and served as a Border Director and Ski Patrol Leader. Bart also enjoyed working in his garden. He put much of his time and love into it, making his garden the nicest garden in the neighborhood.

Bart is survived by his daughter, Dominika Latkowski Wald, and his granddaughter Kaya Wald who was born in 2002. Bart spent much of the last year of his life spending time with his 100 year old father. Bart was loved by his family, who will miss him and love him forever.

Bart’s Funeral Mass was held on Thursday, October 29, 2009 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church 163 Chestnut St., Chelsea.

Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
