Beatrice T. (Carvalho) Soares, 86, of Brimfield, MA formerly of Tiverton, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Mary Lane Hospital in Ware, MA. She was wife of the late Joseph Soares.
Born in Tiverton, daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Ferreira) Carvalho, she had lived in Tiverton for most of her life prior to moving to Brimfield. Mrs. Soares worked for Craig Byron, Inc in Fall River as an inspector until retiring in 1985. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Rosemary Chretien of Wales and Sandra Reilly of Westport; a special niece: Susan Carvalho of Dartmouth; 3 sisters: Virginia Carreiro of Tiverton, Catherine Tavares of Tiverton and Dorothy Carreiro of Westport; 1 grandchild; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Mary DeMello, Clara Furtado, Angie Dolan, Joseph Carvalho, Manuel Carvalho, Lillian Gomes and Estelle Boulay.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
