Obituary

Carol B. Rosse, 56, of Londonderry, NH passed away peacefully at Concord Hospital surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 24th. Carol was born in White Plains, NY on January 15, 1953 to Albert and Sheelagh von den Driesch. She was raised in the Town of Valhalla and attended Valhalla High School, class of 1971. She received a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development from the University of Rhode Island in 1975, and a Master of Education degree from Rivier College in 1986. While at college Carol was a member and officer of Phi Sigma Sigma sorority where she made several life long friendships.

For many years Carol taught remedial reading and math in the Londonderry School System working at Mathew Thornton, South and North elementary schools. Later she taught for a few years at Beech Street School in Manchester. After retiring from teaching Carol volunteered for many years at Parkland Hospital in Derry. She was also a girl scout leader, and worked as a troop leader for many years. Carol enjoyed camping and boating on Lake Winnippeesaukee with her family and friends.

Carol was a founding member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Londonderry, where she served on many committees, including the Bishop's Committee, and supported the church's formation and activities in many ways. She was a long time member of the choir and alter guild. She regarded St. Peter's as her 'second family'.

Carol enjoyed all aspects of the natural world, and had a special affinity for her faithful dogs Muggsie and Winnie.

Carol's biggest love was for her family, her daughter Kathleen, her husband Earle, and sister Joan. She took great pride and pleasure in making their home a comforting and love filled space. She made their house a home, and her family a cohesive and loving group. Carol had a loving heart and had many good and strong friendships. Carol never met a person she didn't like or who didn't like her. Her passing creates a large void in her family's life and the community as a whole.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Earle, and her daughter Kathleen both of Londonderry. Her sister Joan of Stratford, Conn., her niece, Michelle and husband Michael of Stratford, Conn. Two uncles, Donald of Lawrence, MA and Charles of Houston, Tx, as well as many cousins, nephews, sister and brothers-in-law, her mother-in-law Virginia, and scores of friends throughout the country.
