JOHN E. SHEA, a lifelong resident of Hingham died on Friday, Oct. 23rd, 2009 at the Life Care Center in Scituate. He was 95. Mr. Shea was born in Hingham, graduated from Hingham High School, St. John's Prep School in Danvers, Notre Dame University in Southbend, Indiana and Boston University Law School. During World War II he served with the United States Army where he was assigned to Military Intelligence and Security. Mr. Shea was an accountant by profession and worked for the Internal Revenue Service before establishing his own accounting firm. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Paul's Church in Hingham. In addition, he was an avid golfer and member of the Braintree Golf Course.
He was the husband of the late Estelle M. (Doran) Shea and father of Jane C. Cuoco and her husband Michael of Pembroke, Eleanor M. Molina and her husband Jesus of Methuen and Patricia F. Shea of Duxbury. Grandfather of Edward J. Molina and his wife Chelsea of Dallas, TX and Jennifer M. Molina of Boston. Great Grandfather of Beckett Shea Molina of Dallas, TX.
Funeral Wednesday, Oct. 28th at 9 AM from the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul's Church, 147 North St., Hingham Square at 10 AM.
Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Tuesday evening from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory would be appreciated to Hingham Elder Services, 224 Central St., Hingham, MA 02043.
Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Hingham.
