Mary A. (Picillo) Del Monico, 83, died October 22, 2009, at the West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Pasqualina (Perrotta) Picillo and the wife of the late Panfilo G. “Pat” Del Monico. Born and educated in Boston, she graduated from Boston Trade School and had lived in Brockton for the last 25 years of her life. She worked for many years at the Stoughton Diner and later was a supervisor for Johnson & Johnson in Mansfield. Mrs. Del Monico was a former member of the Daughters of Italy. She enjoyed dressmaking, making bracelets, ceramics, writing poetry and gardening.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Georgette Del Monico of Brockton and her son, Jeffrey J. Del Monico of West Bridgewater. She also was survived by her sisters, Florence Frasca of Revere and Catherine Murphy of Weymouth. She was preceded in death by her other siblings: Alba Squire, James Picillo and Theresa Qualitero.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday, October 27 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 4-7 PM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Mary’s name may be made to the American Heart Foundation, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
