WORCESTER__ Marie (Bernard) Babin, 93, of Worcester, died Friday, October 23, 2009 with family by her side, in St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband of 55 years, Peter A. Babin died in 1993.
She leaves a son, David Y. Babin and his wife, Robin of Leicester; a daughter, Bernice Stevenson and her husband, Robert of Worcester; two grandsons, Peter Babin and his wife, Andrea of Billerica; and David G. Babin of Leicester; one great-granddaugther, Adelaide Babin of Billerica and many nieces and nephews. She was born in the Bondsville section of Palmer, one of thirteen children of Narcisse and Filomena (Delude) Bernard.
Mrs. Babin was a homemaker. She was raised in Three Rivers and moved to Worcester in 1938. Marie was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church, now know as Holy Family Parish. She was a volunteer for many years at St. Francis Home. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making puzzles and playing the lottery with her grandson.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 27, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 11:30 A.M. in St. Joseph Church at Holy Family Parish, 35 Hamilton Street. Burial will be in St. Anne Cemetery, Three Rivers. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Monday, October 26, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the Mercy Centre for Developmental Disabilities, 25 West Chester St., Worcester, MA 01605.
