Dorothy (Piva) Souza, 75, of New Bedford, died August 27, 2003 at New England Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Antone G. Souza who died on January 20, 1984, and daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Moniz) Piva.
Mrs. Souza was born in New Bedford and had lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
Survivors include a son, James Pereira of Florida; 6 sisters, Mary Soboloweski of Burlington, MA, Alice Brockman of Lakeview, Oregon, Irene Nault, Agnes Dallaire and Helen Pacheco, all of New Bedford and Geraldine Piva of Port St. Lucie, Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Robert Pereira and Joseph Pereira and sister of the late Stella Miller.
